God “will repay each person according to what they have done.” To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.
All of us have thought about the afterlife. All throughout recorded history, humanity has pondered and painted what happens after our life ends on this earth. Some believes we simply blink out of existence. Some believe we never really leave this earth, but come back as something else, like an animal or another person. Some believe our consciousness exists forever…somewhere. As followers of Jesus, we believe that indeed our soul continue one and ends up in one of two places…heaven or hell. Where are these places? What do they look like? What happens there? These are all questions we explore in this two part mini-series on the Christian perspective of the afterlife. We will start at the bottom, so to speak, and work our way up with Hell. Question for you…have we already said “Yes” to hell?
Since hell is a scripture-wide topic, there are several bits of scripture we discussed. I encourage you to look at them in their context and ponder them for yourself.
